There is a reoccurring Domain Name Registration Scam coming out of China that attempts to have website owners send money to register their current Domains in China. We recently received one through email and thought it would be a good idea to share it on our blog so everyone can protect themselves from this Scam.
It starts off like this:

(It’s very urgent, please transfer this email to your CEO, Thanks)
We are the domain name registration service company in China. On July 30, 2018 , we received an application from Kaiying Ltd (name can be different) requested “coloradocomputertechs” as their internet keyword and China (CN) domain names
(coloradocomputertechs.cn,
coloradocomputertechs.com.cn
coloradocomputertechs.org.en) But after checking it we find this name conflict with your company name or trademark. In order to deal with this matter better, it’s necessary to send email to you and confirm whether this company is your distributor or business partner in China?
Best Regards

IT’S A SCAM,
As you can see it looks like a legitimate email but it’s not, what they are trying to do is get you to reply so that they can in turn contact you to get you to pay them to re-register a Domain name in China which does not exist.
DELETE THE EMAIL, DO NOT REPLY OR CALL THEM, unless you do business in China registering a Domain Name there is useless as you have no need for it, beware, be smart, be informed.
